TNS Appoints 1-800-FLOWERS.COM Chief Information Officer Enzo Micali as CIO of North America Custom Research Business
Mr. Micali's Diverse IT Background to Provide Strategic Direction for the Development of TNS North America's Cutting-Edge Technology Platform
NEW YORK, December 19, 2006 – TNS, a leading global market-information group, appointed Enzo Micali Chief Information Officer of the company’s North America Custom Research business, effective early 2007. Mr. Micali is the former CIO of 1-800-FLOWERS.COM and rated one of the top CIOs in the country. Together with several recently announced executive appointments, Mr. Micali further strengthens the leadership team under Kimberly Till, President, TNS North America.
In his new position, Mr. Micali will lead the North American Information Technology organization in enabling the Market Research Firm of the Future through applied advanced technology and integrated business functionality. He will be responsible for setting the technology direction and integrating services across North America into a cohesive, homogeneous set of services in support of business growth. Mr. Micali, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, will also play an important role in the growth and success of the business through applied technology.
Mr. Micali brings extensive background in information technology to his new role. Prior to joining TNS, Mr. Micali served as CIO/Senior Vice President for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM from 2000 through 2006, where he was responsible for overseeing all technology plans and programs for the online retailer and its eight subsidiaries. Mr. Micali helped 1-800-FLOWERS.COM identify key leverage points in e-commerce, aligned IT and business goals, and also drove improvements in inventory management and order fulfillment.
Before joining 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Mr. Micali served as CTO for Inslogic, a business-to-business software provider supporting financial institutions and internet portals serving the insurance industry. He also has held key IT roles at Chase Manhattan Bank, PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting, Deloitte & Touche, and Chemical Bank. Mr. Micali will be able to use his experience to build a ‘One Company’ technology-services platform that will help TNS drive profitable organic growth as well as absorb any future acquisitions.
Mr. Micali has garnered several high-profile industry awards including ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 IT Leader Award (2005), CIO Magazine’s Top 100 CIO Award (2005), InformationWeek’s Leading User of Technology Award (2004), and one of InfoWorld’s Most Influential CTOs (2003).
