RESEARCH AGENCY EXPANDS INTO AUSTRALIAN TRAVEL SECTOR
TNS Australia acquires Travel Research Centre

London, UK. 9 May 2007… TNS Australia broadens its focus on the tourism and leisure sector with its acquisition of the Travel Research Centre (TRC), based in Sydney Australia.

Chris Riquier, Managing Director, TNS Oceania said: “TRC’s wealth of experience in the private travel and leisure sector is a strategic complement to TNS Australia’s public sector offering.”

“It places TNS at the forefront of research capabilities in this ever growing industry.”

The TRC’s core business is a syndicated business air travel monitor which spans 11 international markets. The TRC also provides services to the broader private and public travel and leisure sector in Australia, on projects as diverse as market segmentation, customer satisfaction and advertising evaluation.

Carolyn Childs, with 19 years experience with the TRC, joins in the position of Director, Travel and Leisure Research, TNS Australia.

“I am delighted to have Carolyn on board and am enthusiastic to see the sector continue to grow in line with our regional strategy. I believe that, with our combined knowledge and experience, we are now a pivotal operator in this specialised area of research,” said Chris Riquier.

James Hall, Regional Managing Director, TNS Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, said that the acquisition is in line with TNS’s global strategy to be the leader in this market.

“This sector is a major area of expansion for TNS, particularly in the Asia Pacific region, and we have recently appointed Murray Campbell as Regional Director, TNS Travel and Leisure to reflect this,” said James Hall.
