Deep Foundation in Technology Industry Positions Ms. Morwood to Provide Value-added and Actionable Insights about the Technology, Telecommunications and Media Marketplaces
New York, August 6, 2007 – TNS, a world leader in market information, has appointed Shari Morwood as Executive Vice President of Technology, Telecom and Media, TNS North America, effective immediately. Ms. Morwood will work closely with the senior leadership team of TNS North America, bringing valuable experience from her 11-year tenure with IBM, where she most recently served as Vice President of Sales & Distribution of Market Intelligence.
In her new role, Ms. Morwood will be responsible for managing and continuing the growth of TNS’ Technology, Telecom and Media sectors, working directly with the leaders of the respective industry segments. Ms. Morwood will leverage her strong relationships and knowledge base built over her career to extend TNS North America’s reach in to the technology and media industries.
Ms. Morwood brings to TNS insights and affiliations built over her tenure of more than 30 years in the market research and technology industries. Recently, she served as the Vice President of Worldwide Market Research for IBM, tasked with leading all primary and secondary market research for the company. In this role, she was instrumental in helping restructure Market Intelligence into a consolidated “center of excellence” and reengineered the internal programs and processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness. She held a number of other roles at IBM including Vice President, Strategy and Market Intelligence for the Americas, Manager of the Market Intelligence Software Group and Futurist for IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Lab. Prior to her tenure at IBM, Ms. Morwood held numerous marketing and research and development positions with Hewlett-Packard and General Electric. She is currently a trustee of the Marketing Science Institute.
