In the 20 years since the public first used the Internet, it’s managed to change the world of consumer behavior in ways unimaginable in 1987. 

According to the Simmons National Consumer Study, 52% of adults have accessed the internet at home in the past seven days.  Forty-three percent of these adults access the Internet for news and weather information and 37% use it for online banking, followed by 21% who surf to gather information about shopping.  These Internet surfers “agree a lot” that the Internet has changed the way they shop for products (165 index) and the way they obtain information about products (165 index).
