LONDON — Synovate, the market research arm of Aegis Group plc, announced today that it has acquired Metra Seis, the largest independent full-service market research company in Spain.
With offices in Madrid and Barcelona, Metra Seis employs 75 members of staff and has particular expertise in research for automotive and FMCG clients.
Synovate Iberia Managing Director Enrique Domingo will lead the new Spanish business. Current Metra Seis Managing Director Julio Vidosa will become deputy managing director of Synovate's operations in Spain, with specific responsibilities for finance and for leading and applying the excellent operational capabilities of Metra Seis within Synovate.
Global CEO Adrian Chedore said the new business further enhances Synovate's position in ad-hoc market research in Spain. "We are significantly raising our profile in quantitative research, with Metra Seis' capabilities nicely complementing Synovate's existing full-service operations and strong position in qualitative research."
The clients of both businesses in Spain stand to gain from this acquisition, Chedore noted. "Synovate's clients will benefit from Metra Seis' strong data collection capabilities and highly efficient operations. At the same time, clients of Metra Seis will have access to Synovate's leading-edge solutions as well as deep industry expertise across our global network."
Chedore added that Synovate Spain's leadership team is ideally positioned for driving the business forward. "Enrique and Julio are iconic figures in the Spanish market research industry, and by combining forces they will undoubtedly make Synovate the most dynamic player in this key market."
