The internet is evolving at a rapid rate, and with this evolution come both challenges and opportunities that influence the way businesses are run and decisions made.
To enable researchers and businesses to keep pace with Web 2.0 MRS and Research Conferences is holding a one-day conference at the Café Royal, London, on Thursday 6 December.
Research 2.0 – Meeting the challenge of the next wave in online research, aims to give both brands and professional market researchers a fuller understanding of the implications of Web 2.0 and the associated opportunities and challenges. Speakers from the both the agency and client-side will lead debates on new and exciting material such as the how to engage with audiences in online surveys, how to manage the customer experience, and what user generated content really means for the way we interact with our clients and customers.
Chaired by Martin Oxley, MD of BuzzBack Market Research, the conference will present high profile speakers from several sectors and industries.Client-side speakers include Eulin Goh, British Airways, and Alistair Wright, BskyB. Eulin will discuss the emerging role of social community research forums while Alistair will draw on his extensive experience in the broadcast sector to give an overview of how best to manage the media mix.
From the agency-side, presenters include Pete Comley, Chairman of Virtual Surveys, who will discuss the controversial issue of abandoning online panels in favour of creating online communities, and Mike Waite, Managing Director of Market Tools, commenting on the key opportunities and pitfalls of tapping into online communities for observation, insight and co-creation.
The Conference will conclude with a Pecha Kucha session – the Japanese phenomenon that is taking the world by storm. This will offer delegates the opportunity to put forward their views in six minute sessions - giving them the opportunity to focus their message and absorb one another’s ideas in a dynamic, stimulating environment.
MRS conference organiser, Sophie Russell-Ross, is positive that the event will enable delegates to gain valuable insight into one of the most influential fields in market research. She comments: “The Internet is driving one of the most rapid changes in society the world has ever seen, and it is vital that the research community keeps abreast of the latest developments and associated opportunities. This conference will encourage debate and discussion and facilitate an exchange of ideas, ultimately resulting in enhanced understanding of how all of us can use the Internet to change the way we do business and deliver a more valuable service to our clients.”
The Research 2.0 Conference will be held on Thursday 6 December from 8.30am until 5.30pm at the Café Royal, London. For more information or to book a place please email Christopher Bancroft at
