TNS Korea Named as First Ever Market Research Company to Win Korea Marketing Frontier Award
July 15th 2008 – TNS, a leading global market information company, has been awarded the Korea Marketing Association’s ‘Frontier Award’ for leadership in the area of Scientific Marketing – the first time such recognition has been given to a market research company.
Only a small handful of Korean companies are honoured in this award scheme each year and past recipients have included the most prominent and successful corporations in Korea, including Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motors, Korean Air, Yuhan Kimberly and Kia Motors.
Managing Director of TNS Korea, Mr. J. Yang, who received the award on behalf of TNS at the KMA’s official ceremony, will present findings from a recent study similar to those referenced by the award at the forthcoming Integration Congress of Korean Business Economy 2008, held by Korean academic study of Business Administration at Jeju International convention center on August 19th and 20th.
Yang said: "We are very proud and honoured to receive this recognition. Many of Korea’s large corporations are well-known and heavyweight global brands and we were judged against a number of highly-respected names. TNS has built a position as a company that really works closely with clients to help them gain fresh insight into their customers. We are therefore seen as a company that provides much more than market information services. Everybody at TNS Korea can take credit for winning this award."
David Richardson, TNS Regional Director, North Asia – who also oversees marketing of TNS across Asia Pacific – added: "TNS Korea has long been very active within Korea’s large and sophisticated community of marketing professionals. TNS has run more than 100 seminars on marketing best practices in recent years, for example, and our senior managers regularly take up speaking engagements at universities in Korea and at many of Korea’s top companies. As a result, TNS Korea has a strong reputation in Korea as a true marketing partner that adds tangible value."
The Korea Marketing Frontier Award was established in 1993 by the KMA, a body that comprises more than 1,000 professors in marketing and other experts in Korea. The KMA publishes the Journal of the Korean Marketing Association and the Korean Journal of Marketing.
