Who will make history by walking away with one of the first MRG Awards?

The Media Research Group has announced the keenly awaited shortlist for the inaugural MRG Awards.

The MRG Awards are not only the first awards in the group’s 46-year history, but the first to celebrate the unique achievements of the media research industry.

The MRG introduced the Awards to recognise outstanding work over the past 24 months; it aims to make them a key fixture in the industry’s calendar.

Neil Mortensen, MRG Co-chair and Chair of the judges, said:
“We want the media research community to recognise these awards as “the one to win”. We have certainly had a tremendous response in our first year and are encouraged by the energy throughout the sector. The diversity and quality of entries is heartening and gives us great confidence for the future of media research in the UK.  Congratulations to those who made the first ever shortlist.”

Best Research Initiative
• Guardian News and Media for ‘GNM Word of Mouth Research’
• MediaCom for ‘Real World Money: a living, breathing study of the recession and the aftermath’
• Omnicom Media Group, UK for ‘Tapping into the Powerhouse of Digital Ethnic Communities’.

The winner of the IPA/Simon Broadbent Award for the Best Paper, the award for best conference paper voted for exclusively by conference attendees, will also be announced at the Gala Dinner.

The Judge’s for the awards are:

The award winners will be announced at the MRG Gala Dinner held at the close of the MRG Conference in Malta on Friday 5th November.
