Simpson Carpenter has strengthened its new healthcare and pharmaceutical research division with the appointment of Emma Imison as Research Manager.

Emma’s primary responsibilities will be to support the new Head of Healthcare Research, Anna Sawka, to develop this specialist division and its client base.

Emma will also manage and deliver international healthcare research projects.

Emma joins from Opinion Leader where she conducted research projects for healthcare clients including NICE, the Department of Health and various strategic health authorities. Previously she spent two years at Aequus Research, and the Medical Research Council. She has a MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Tom Simpson, Managing Director said,
“It’s a pleasure to be able to welcome Emma to the team. She joins us at an exciting time and will play a critical role in the development of our recently launched healthcare division. Her experience in the sector, combined with her ability to build strong client relationships, make her a valuable addition to our team.”

Commenting on her appointment, Emma said,
“I’m delighted to be joining the new and growing healthcare practice at Simpson Carpenter and am looking forward to helping our clients understand patients and healthcare professionals. I am excited to be working alongside such experienced colleagues.”

Simpson Carpenter launched its healthcare division earlier this year to bring a more consumer centric focus to traditional pharmaceutical research. The team offers a full range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies together with capabilities for advanced analysis.

In addition to providing a hotline to patients, Simpson Carpenter will draw on its newly appointed healthcare specialists’ considerable experience of working with opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and hard-to-reach groups.
