Research International, today announces the acquisition of the majority of shares in its joint venture partner South China Market Research (SCMR). The agency becomes the holding company for SCMR, which has been trading as Research International since 1997. The current management team remains in place.

Heather Payne, CEO of Research International, Asia Pacific region says “China is of strategic importance for us and our clients. We already have strong regional coverage in Asia, and this acquisition is part of our strategy to invest further in the region. We have worked successfully in a joint venture partnership with our Chinese colleagues since 1997 and this deal simply strengthens that partnership.”

Mr Chen Jin, CEO of Research International in China comments “in China and across the region we have seen the consolidation of the market research industry. We believe this acquisition will act as a guarantee to our clients that we can continue to offer strong services across China, Asia Pacific and beyond. We expect integration into the group to mean closer co-operation, standardized methodologies, improved IT systems, increased spend on R&D, access to proprietary techniques, global knowledge management and increased staff training. This will be of benefit to our clients and our staff. This deal will help us to service international clients coming in to China and Chinese clients looking to Asia and the rest of the world.”?
