as One of Continent's Most Promising Private Technology Ventures
Prestigious List Honors Technology Companies Poised for Explosive Growth
uSamp (www.uSamp.com), one of the world's fastest growing technology and online survey respondent companies, today announced that it has been named a finalist for Red Herring’s North America 100 Award. The Red Herring award honors the year’s most promising private technology ventures from the North American business region.
Making the list of finalists for Red Herring’s Top 100 North America has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.
Finalists are invited to present their winning strategies at the Red Herring North America Forum in Hollywood on June 13-15. After a final stage of judging, the Top 100 winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony the evening of June 15 at the event.
“We're honored that the Red Herring is considering us for this recognition,” said uSamp co-founder and CEO Matt Dusig. “We formed uSamp three years ago with the intent of giving our clients unprecedented access to collaborative market research tools that would help them better serve their customers and, over time, provide brands with superior market intelligence – all on a DIY basis. That vision has been validated, by both the marketplace and by the community of influencers, like the Red Herring, who set the bar higher with each passing year.”
Co-founded in 2008 by both Matt Dusig and Gregg Lavin, President, the company has quickly become one of the world's fastest growing technology and online survey respondent companies, and now features 175 team members worldwide and approximately 5.7 million global market research panelists. “We are quickly becoming a leader in self-serve sampling technology, scaling our full service sampling solutions, and bridging mobile into our offering “ said Lavin.
Earlier this year, uSamp introduced SampleMarket 2.0, which allows companies
to engage verified survey panelists instantly, in just a few clicks, while providing real-time pricing, feasibility and detailed reporting results.
Recently, the company embarked on a six-city summer tour of SampleMarket 2.0 live demonstrations -- the next stop being NYC on June 6th -- www.CityTourSM.com.
"This year was especially rewarding," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of the Red Herring. "The global economic situation has improved and there are many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products. We had a very difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists. We know that the 2011 crop of finalists will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to make an impact."
During the several months leading up to this announcement, hundreds of companies in the telecommunications, security, Web 2.0, software, hardware, biotech, mobile and other industries completed their submissions to qualify for the award.
The Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated the 200 finalist companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy and market penetration.
This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, enabling the Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models in North America.
Red Herring is a global media company uniting the world's best high-technology innovators, venture investors and business decision makers in a variety of forums: a leading innovation magazine; an online daily technology service; technology newsletters, and major events for technology leaders around the globe.
