Neil Thorington joins GfK Financial as Deputy Managing Director, with a particular focus on digital research techniques.

GfK Financial today announced the appointment of Neil Thorington as Deputy Managing Director as part of its on-going strategy to offer strong, integrated and relevant research to clients in the financial services sector.

In particular, Thorington will be implementing new digital tools and techniques, to deliver increasingly far-reaching benefits for clients.

Thorington joins GfK from YouGov, where he worked for 6 years – most recently in a dual role as Director of Key Accounts and Director of Qualitative Research.

As such, he was responsible for the management of all of major accounts and the design of their research programmes, together with driving procurement of leading edge research software.

Commenting on Thorington’s appointment, Nick Watkins, Managing Director of GfK Financial, said,
“Neil’s track record in developing Key Accounts and his depth of experience in working with digital research techniques  makes him a perfect match for our own innovative client-focused approach. I am sure he will be a driving force within our forward-thinking financial division. We are delighted that he has joined GfK.”

Thorington added
“I’m extremely excited about being part of the GfK team – especially at this dynamic time when the company is strategically re-positioning itself to be even better placed to help clients meet the challenges of increasingly global and digital markets. GfK has long been recognised as one of the more innovative of the major research companies and I look forward to playing my part in the continued success of GfK Financial.”

Thorington is based in GfK NOP’s London headquarters at Blackfriars Bridge.
