This leads to greater competition, lower prices, more technical innovations and a range of communications solutions targeting the full market spectrum. Overall the installed base for standardised digital technologies is forecast to increase seven-fold by the end of the decade.
Connolly continued, “Of course this migration won’t happen overnight, there is still a substantial analogue market in place providing revenues for a long time yet. Some analogue markets such as Eastern Europe are still growing, with a strong worldwide replacement market for a number of years to come.”
