Canada’s largest market research company has one word for the Québec market - formidable! Luc Durand has been appointed President of Ipsos in Québec. The announcement was made by Gary Bennewies, President and CEO for Ipsos in Canada.

Luc Durand
“Luc Durand has his finger on the pulse of Québec. He knows the dynamics of the market and has a deep understanding of the needs of marketers throughout the province,” says Bennewies of the announcement. “Ipsos is the largest research company in Canada and now the third largest in the world. We need a strong presence in Québec to ensure we maintain our national position and deliver results for clients seeking a deeper understanding of the unique character of the Québec market. Luc has extensive experience in the local marketing and research community and an established relationship with Ipsos. Those will serve him well in motivating and directing our Québec service teams as well as delivering results for our clients. We are all excited by his appointment and send our ‘meilleurs vœux’ for his success.”

In his new role as President, Luc Durand will be responsible for all of Ipsos’ client service operations in Québec. Durand will specifically oversee leadership of three key Ipsos brands namely Ipsos Marketing (product innovation and forecasting, and market understanding), Ipsos ASI (advertising and brand management research), and Ipsos Public Affairs (public opinion polling and surveys).

Prior to his work at Ipsos, Durand worked for a variety of marketing and research roles with key organizations throughout the province. Most recently, he was with Bleublancrouge, a leading Québec-based marketing communications and advertising firm, where he served as Vice President for several years. Prior to that, he had an eight year stint as Vice President with CROP, a Canadian research company, and led marketing efforts as Marketing Director at Mont Tremblant Resort for Intrawest.

“Ipsos is the most important research company in Canada and now the third largest in the world, but in Québec we have a lot of room to build a more powerful and relevant brand,” says Durand of his new post. “Our strength as a company doesn’t just come from our size or capabilities. This is an organization that embraces innovation, thought leadership, client service and new challenges. I’m thrilled to be surrounded by exceptional people here in Québec as well as across Canada and around the world.”

Luc Durand is a graduate of l’Université de Montréal with a Baccalaureate Degree in Mathematics specialized in Actuarial Sciences and Statistics and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing at l’École des hautes etudes commerciales de Montréal.
