Jane Bainbridge is an experienced business journalist specialising in marketing, media and advertising. A former deputy editor of Marketing, she has worked as a freelance writer and editor for the past ten years. She has been a contributor to the Guardian Media Network and written for the nationals including The Independent, The Guardian and The Observer.

"The quality of editorial content and design of Impact has impressed me since its launch and it's a testament to all involved,” said Jane. “I'm delighted to join the MRS team and I look forward to continuing the good work."

Jane Frost, chief executive of MRS said: “I am thrilled to have Jane join us. These publications play a critical role in setting the tone and agenda not just of the Society but of the research, insight, analytics and marketing sciences sector as a whole. Jane has the editorial pedigree to challenge, inspire and delight us all in the process.”

Jane’s feature work has appeared regularly in business magazines such as Marketing and Impact, as well as in several contract magazines for companies including RBS, Royal Mail and Orange. Outside of her published journalism work, Jane has been involved in corporate writing as well as training including business writing workshops and media training.

This appointment follows the departure of Brian Tarran who, after 12 years at MRS (and several awards later), is taking the role of editor of Significance magazine, the publication of the Royal Statistical Society.
