Renowned Industry Methodologist Richard Goosey Joins Harris Interactive in Europe
Goosey brings more than 24 years of industry leadership to deliver high-level consultative services
LONDON – 3 April 2006 – Harris Interactive® announced today that it has hired Richard Goosey as Senior Vice President, Marketing Science and Methodology. Goosey, who will be based in London, brings more than 24 years of international research and development experience in advance analytics, continuous tracking research, and survey design. He will utilise his experience to lead Harris Interactive’s Knowledge and Advanced Methodologies teams in Europe in the delivery of premium consultative services to leading blue-chip organisations.
Most recently, Goosey was with Nielsen/NetRatings as Chief of Measurement Science and a member of the global leadership team. He moved to New York in 2004 when he was appointed Vice President of Research and Development and acted as Global Product Manager for several NetRatings branded products. Goosey joined NetRatings from Research International where he was Chief Statistician, head of the European Management Science Centre, Managing Director of Research International Technical Systems, and a main board member.
Goosey is a senior industry figure and renowned conference speaker and trainer. He has served on The Market Research Society (MRS) Council and The Royal Statistical Society Social Statistics Committee, was Chairman of the MRS Education and Training committee, and is regularly asked to express an expert industry view by the marketing and research media.
Goosey’s conference papers have earned numerous accolades and several industry awards. For example, at the 2005 ESOMAR/Advertising Research Foundation World Audience Measurement Conference, his paper concerned with advanced methods of panel and server data integration was nominated for "Best International Research Paper 2005" and at the 2005 Marketing Research Awards, his work on customer satisfaction research won awards in two separate categories for "Best Use of Research in Business and Professional Markets" and "Best Use of Research for Customer insight." Additionally, his paper "It is Time We Started Using Statistics" was awarded the Best Methodology paper at ESOMAR’s 50th Congress, resulting in its publication in "Measuring Business Excellence," the quarterly journal of the Business Performance Management Association.

Richard is a chartered statistician and full member of MRS with a Masters degree in Mathematical Techniques of Statistics and Operational Research from London University.
