Leading specialist fieldwork agency, Facts International, today announced its appointment to support polling and researching company, ComRes, in polling for the 2015 UK General Election.

Part of Chime Insight and Engagement (CIE), Facts will conduct telephone interviews in the run up to the election to assist ComRes in voting intention and analysis. CIE’s specialist digital arm, Watermelon, will also conduct online interviews during the election period. In all, about a dozen polls are planned, with reporting via national media platforms such as ITV News and the Daily Mail.

“In the run-up to the most unpredictable general election in recent history, we are delighted to work with a trusted and reliable partner that will help us to track the state of the campaign. By using both telephone and online research methods for the General Election, we will achieve an in-depth, wide-ranging analysis, keeping us on the pulse of the latest trends in public opinion.” commented Andrew Hawkins of ComRes. “After a lengthy selection process, CIE was an obvious choice to support us with this high profile project. It has a strong reputation for accurate results and speed of turnaround, and its specialist agencies – Facts International and Watermelon – have the capacity for large scale research in both CATI and online applications.”

ComRes is an award-winning opinion research consultancy founded to fill the gap in the market for communications research. For more than a decade they have taken the latest developments in opinion research and tailored them to provide industry-leading evidence and insights. Through its partnerships with ITV News, the Daily Mail and other national media platforms, it provides innovative polling during General Elections to understand the shape of the race and the direction it is heading.

Facts International was awarded the Best Field Force of 2014 by the Market Research Society, and CIE recently announced another year of double-digit growth in its preliminary end of year results for the seventh consecutive year. Crispin Beale, CEO of CIE stated: “We are excited to be involved in this major national project and are delighted that ComRes recognises our core strengths in the area of polling. Our teams will take pride in showing their professionalism in this critical arena and we look forward to some interesting results.”
