SWORDS AND HABIS NAMED DIRECTORS OF IPSOS MORI HEALTHCARE

Appointments highlight agency’s continued expansion of healthcare research offering

Ipsos MORI has this week announced both Richard Habis’ appointment to the role of business development director, and Karen Swords’ new role as a director within the company’s growing healthcare division.

Karen, who joined Ipsos MORI’s healthcare team seven years ago after having previously spent five years in account management at IMS Hospital Services, will continue leading many of the division’s research projects for a number of key accounts in sectors such as osteoporosis, cardiovascular, ‘pain’ and diabetes therapy.  She will also be dedicated to further strengthening the division’s offering for clients switching from prescription to over-the-counter status.

Richard joins the UK healthcare team from his previous role as the regional healthcare research manager for the Ipsos Group’s Middle East and North African operation.  A qualified pharmacist and former market research and sales force effectiveness manager for Eli Lilly, Richard will be tasked with continuing the development of Ipsos MORI’s prescription medication research practice.

Both Richard and Karen will be working from Ipsos MORl’s offices in Harrow and will report to Andy Parker, Managing Director, Ipsos MORI Insight.

Commenting on the promotions, Andy said:

“Pharmaceutical companies are becoming increasingly aware of the need to conduct pre-launch research before introducing a new therapy to the market, as well as using research to measure sales force effectiveness during and after the initial launch.  The specialist knowledge that Richard and Karen offer the healthcare division will enable us to further support the specific needs of the diverse range of pharmaceutical clients we service.”

Richard added:

“Having worked in pharmaceutical sales and research from the manufacturing side, I was impressed by the way in which Ipsos MORI’s healthcare division combines its dedication to growing its prescription business with a strong commitment to providing its clients with the expertise, insight, and consultancy required to fully understand their complex marketplace.  I am delighted to be taking up this challenging role.”
