BAA selects Merlinco software to research passengers
After extensive testing of packages for conducting surveys on hand-held computers (PDAs), the British Airports Authority (BAA) has confirmed selection and implementation of Merlinco’s Merlin Plus software for research at UK airports.
BAA needed a system to research passengers at airports – one which would allow them to respond to opportunities and problems quickly. After thorough evaluation of both hardware and software in trials lasting several months, Merlin Plus (MPS) was selected – for the robust, flexible and easy to use qualities it offers.
The head of the project team at BAA commented: “Merlinco’s software stood up to our rigorous testing in all respects. Not only is MPS full of useful features, but Merlinco have demonstrated an exceptional willingness to work with BAA to make sure the system works exactly to our special requirements.
The research demands at BAA are wide-ranging, necessitating a flexible and powerful system capable of rapid set-up and implementation, secure data collection, and flexible analysis. We are delighted with the software, and with Merlinco’s helpfulness and support.”
BAA are implementing the software on 120 hand-held PDAs across all their seven UK airports.
Peter Jackling, Merlinco’s managing director, added: “Like so much of Merlinco’s software, the system has been developed in direct consultation with clients to meet their exact needs, although based on off-the-shelf solutions. And it is priced realistically, so that all types of agencies and end clients will be able to see the benefits quickly. We are delighted that BAA selected Merlinco after such exhaustive tests”.
