Ipsos MORI announced this week two senior level appointments. Susan Purcell and Damian Symons have joined the research agency as directors and will be working for Ipsos MORI Insight in the Brand and Marketing Development (BMD) team.

Susan and Damian’s appointments further strengthen the BMD team, bringing complementary client and agency skills at a senior level.  Each will be managing a team of executives on international and domestic accounts and will be responsible for driving the processes and insight of client deliverables.

Susan has over 20 years research experience in a variety of consumer markets including drinks, leisure and fast food, most recently as a senior strategic planning consultant with Coca-Cola.  She will be managing several key accounts in sectors such as drinks and pet care.  Given her breadth of experience working client-side and in agencies, Susan has been tasked with raising the game on a client-centric approach to empower the delivery of new research offerings and actionable recommendations.

Damian is returning to Ipsos MORI in a new role following a sabbatical.  Having first joined the Ipsos Group in 2002, he previously worked as a director for the International Services team. He has extensive experience leading international research initiatives and will be responsible for combining this expertise with an emphasis on client needs to manage several global FMCG accounts.

Susan and Damian will both report to Mark Burgess, Managing Director of Insight at Ipsos MORI. Commenting on the appointments, Mark said:

“Susan and Damian’s dedicated roles in managing client projects adds to our already strong senior level research team.  Their expertise will enable us to provide even more strategic insight to meet our clients’ marketing needs. We will now be even better placed to provide what clients and brands need to be successful as well as deliver what they request.”

Susan added:

“Having spent a number of years working for a multi-national client-side marketing team, I was impressed with how Ipsos MORI’s BMD division focuses on providing their clients with diverse skills, research expertise and insight that can be translated into profitable action.  I am excited for the opportunity to continue developing this integrated client-driven approach to market research and consultancy. ”
