The Local Network Fund for Children and Young People is a DfES programme which supports small voluntary and community groups to improve outcomes and opportunities for vulnerable children and young people aged 0-19.
The fund provides support and funding to enable community groups to develop and provide services and activities for children and young people in their areas.
The DfES commissioned BMRB Social Research to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research into the Local Network Fund. BMRB worked in conjunction with the University of Hull, University of Sheffield and the University of York.
The aim of the research was to:
- Understand the role and value of LNF
- Assess how well application and grant approval process works
- Investigate the impact of LNF on groups and beneficiaries (children, young people and families)
