UPDATE ON TNS CHAIRMAN SELECTION PROCESS ? Mike Kirkham announces decision to withdraw candidature ? 5th January 2006 - London, UK - In October 2005 the Board of Taylor Nelson Sofres plc (TNS) announced that it was going through a selection process for a chairman to replace Tony Cowling.? This followed consultation with a number of institutional shareholders and at that time the Board invited Mike Kirkham to become a candidate.
Mike Kirkham has since decided to withdraw his candidature.?? Commenting on his decision, Mike Kirkham said, "UK Corporate Governance guidelines recommend that only in exceptional circumstances should the Chief Executive of a company go on to become chairman.?
