Gunnebo Still Number One as the Entrance-Control Market Heats Up

In a highly concentrated market addressed by only a small number of companies, Gunnebo Entrance Control has maintained its number one position in the EMEA market for security-related entrance control equipment. In two new reports by IMS Research titled “The EMEA and Americas Markets for Entrance Control Equipment”, Gunnebo Entrance Control was confirmed as the market leader in EMEA with an estimated 11.7% market share in 2006.
“The EMEA market for security-related entrance control equipment is dominated by four companies: Gunnebo, Kaba, Royal Boon Edam Group Holding bv and Automatic Systems”, comments Paul Everett, report author and senior research analyst at IMS Research. “Together these four companies accounted for an estimated 44.4% of the total EMEA entrance-control security market in 2006.”

Everett continues, “Each individual product market, such as turnstiles, speed gates and security doors is consolidated and follows a two-tier structure, with the larger, broadline manufacturers of entrance-controls occupying the top tier, and a number of smaller, more specialist manufacturers occupying the second tier. Looking ahead the market is going to become increasingly more competitive with the leading manufacturers continuing to battle it out for the number one spot”.
