What percentage of companies in the United States use market research?

Interesting question. If you think about it, nearly all companies use it, it's just on a different scale. For example, a small hardware shop in Kansas uses MR to decide to close on a Tuesday because they are not busy. On the other hand, large companies put millions of dollars into it research every aspect of their market. In another instance, a parcel audit company would use research to find the most cost effective transportation methods and therefore save money. So IMHO I would say that 99% of companies use it. :)
